Stockholm Stream Media operates a B2B platform that bridges independent content creators with major streaming services like AppleTV+, Amazon Prime, and Comcast. Their Delta platform automates video delivery by handling format conversion, metadata management, and direct platform integration with multi-country rights support.

When Stockholm Stream first approached ELITEX, they had Delta running in production, already serving clients across major streaming platforms. However, the company needed to expand their development capacity quickly to handle increased client demands and platform integrations without the overhead of traditional recruitment.

Stockholm Stream sought a flexible solution to scale their development capacity as their client base expanded. While their existing Media Workflow service handled operations properly, the company recognized the need to enhance system architecture to support growth across multiple streaming platforms.

Each streaming platform requires different delivery rules and formats, requiring individual optimization approaches therefore creating unique challenges for system enhancement. So, Stockholm Stream Media needed developers who could handle these platform-specific complexities while maintaining overall system reliability.

Initially, Stockholm Stream required additional backend expertise. Their established technology stack naturally pointed toward .NET specialists to modernize core services and improve performance while maintaining their reliable production environment. Later, they needed additional front-end expertise, hiring React specialists from ELITEX to refresh Delta's user interface.

During the entire development process, project management remained under Stockholm Stream’s control with daily meetings and workload defined in a Kanban board. This agile approach accommodated priorities and client requests effectively. Stockholm Stream maintained complete strategic and operational control throughout the collaboration, which allowed them to guide product direction while benefiting from ELITEX's technical execution.

We began our journey with an architecture overhaul. ELITEX built custom services to replace Stockholm Stream's existing Media Workflow system with a more scalable architecture. The development team created a custom queuing mechanism and Delivery service from scratch, handling video preparation, subtitle processing, and multi-platform uploads across 14 different streaming services.

Advanced Technical Solutions for Delta

ELITEX implemented a hybrid cloud approach that balanced performance with cost efficiency. Heavy video processing and storage remained on-premise using Stockholm Stream's server infrastructure, while lightweight operations utilized AWS services.

The new Delivery service featured intelligent job prioritization. It handled high-priority tasks first, processing small jobs in parallel, and putting large non-priotity task to the end of the queue.

The system included zero-downtime maintenance capabilities through worker node draining. It allowed Delta to do Windows updates on individual servers without affecting client operations. Additionally, real-time monitoring dashboards provided comprehensive error tracking and performance metrics across all 14 platform integrations.

ELITEX assigned 2 specialized developers (1 backend specialist + 1 full-stack developer) to the Stockholm Stream project.

The collaboration began with one dedicated .NET backend developer who helped Stockholm Stream Media rebuild their core services from scratch. After a short while, the team expanded with an additional full-stack developer focused primarily on React-based frontend development to enhance Delta's user interface.

As of now, collaboration is active for more than 4 years.

Stockholm Stream Media continues to expand their operations and recently achieved a preferred vendor status with Amazon Prime. The enhanced Delta platform now reliably handles multi-platform video delivery at scale, supporting the company’s growing client base across 14 streaming services.
